Hotel Review: The Grand Hyatt Singapore

Do Note: The Grand Hyatt Singapore is currently undergoing renovations and will be reopened in 2024. The hotel is currently accepting enquiries for groups and events for the year and onwards.

Introduction | Grand HYatt Singapore

Well known for the vast guest rooms and prime restaurants around the area, the Grand Hyatt Singapore was on the top of my list to stay in. Man, did they exceed any of my expectations. This hotel is pretty much at the heart of world-renowned Orchard Road, or the Saks Fifth Avenue of Singapore. If you like shopping, you may want to consider this hotel above all else.

Check-In | Grand Hyatt Singapore

I actually checked in way too early without letting them know due a flight change and series of work changes. Originally, I was supposed to check in for a King Sized room. I had booked it with 20,000 Hyatt points which I transferred from Chase Membership awards. Being there at 8:30am in the morning caught the front desk off guard, but in a sudden twist of events, they offered a junior suite on the 7th floor, which I happily took for an easy $60.

A night at the Grand Hyatt Singapore isn’t exactly cheap, with rates coming in around $350-$450 a night. So with the use of 20,000 points and a $60 upgrade to a Junior Suite, I was cashing in a $700 room for only $60. Not bad.

The Room | Grand Hyatt Singapore

Luxurious and incredibly opulent, this is what I assume of a Grand Hyatt hotel. I love it. What’s crazy is that the bathroom has an integrated speaker that is built on top of the sunken bathtub, so you can watch your television or listen to some soothing music while you soak in the bath. What life is this.

It is definitely aging a bit, but with grace and dignity. The hotel is still considered one of the premier in Singapore, and they have made some adjustments here and there.

The bathroom is quite fancy - it simply oozes opulence and wealth, with all the right materials being made to create the room. With a bathtub big enough to sleep two people, and a rain shower that gets so hot so quickly, it’s amazing I didn’t even the bathroom at times. All doors are frosted and separated, which is definitely a nice touch.

Amenities are from June Jacobs, and the scent of the Green Tea and Cucumber remains one of my favorite soap brands out there. The interiors of the hotel carries a heavy theme of wood, warm colors and marble. Overall, the layout and design is meant for business usage.

And then back to the bed again. I keep coming back to it because it’s literally one of the top bed’s I’ve ever slept in. Im not sure sure what they spray or washed the sheets in, but holy moly, it knocked me out instantly. It definitely ain’t my jet lag, that’s for sure. The plush luxurious goose down made it so amazing to sleep in. Alongside the bed are complimentary bottles of water, which is super nice.

For the morning, I ended up ordering room service as I had a ton of work to resolve. I was planning on going out, but realized it was better to finish 3000 shots before heading to the airport.

The breakfast portions were great and the food quality was immaculate. The turnip cakes was definitely my favorite dish and I had no problem finishing it all up, before running into a food coma situation.

Conclusion

The Grand Hyatt Singapore is one of the most iconic hotels in the country. To this day, it continues to live up to its standards by providing effortless service and a satisfying hard product for its customers. As a hotel that caters towards many international business travelers, the hotel has a strong foundation with providing top notch food services and compelling amenities that make the trip worthwhile.

Ultimately, the Grand Hyatt Singapore presents itself as timeless hotel that everyone should strive to visit.
