Introduction

The Star Alliance Lounge at LAX has become the entry point for travelers who wish for a quiet oasis from the bustling terminals with fantastic food options, shower services, and if you are flying first class, a dining experience that you’ll vividly remember.

Excellent food options, stunning outdoor terrace, shower suites, beautiful designs and a massive place to walk around makes this place the go-to lounge at LAX.

We begin our anniversary journey to Japan with a trip to the Star Alliance First Class Lounge.

The 1st Class Lounge

The Star Alliance Lounge is on the 6th floor of the terminal, with the business class lounge being on the left side, while the First Class/Private Lounge is on the right. Upon arrival, we were quickly with a super attentive and kind agent, who introduced all the amenities to us. It’s incredibly intimate and it feels incredibly private.

The fIrst class lounge is smaller than its business class counterpart, but the lounge is quite comfortable and very relaxing. It’s quiet, but you’re able to carry on some conversation. If you’re loud and want to enjoy everything with a sense of excitement, the business class lounge may be more suitable for you.

Lounge set up is quite simple with chairs and sofas facing each other. Heading towards the back will lead you to the Business Class lounge, which you can freely roam about. The two bathrooms are also near the back as well.

In the back are four dining tables that are set up to imitate a fine dining experience. It’s quite nice actually, and I loved it! We were given a menu to satisfy our lunch cravings, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. The upgraded alcohol station also helped a lot.

There is also a section of the lounge that contains the buffet of food and drinks. Drink wise, there are some fine selections there that would instantly satisfy some hardcore enthusiasts. There’s even Shin Ramen, which is a blessing for those who are just craving some unhealthy ramen.

Speaking of the business class lounge, there is a media room to catch up on the latest sports and news about the latest scandals on earth - it’s quiet and actually quite peaceful. Shower suites are also available for first come, first serve basis. I wasn’t gonna shower given that I had showered at the H Hotel Los Angeles a few hours ago, but it’s a welcome feature for those traveling in after a long flight.

Dining | First Class Lounge

The first class dining experience was, in a word, marvelous.

I ended up with the B-2 Pasta, which was a fantastic angel hair pasta with pesto and shrimp. It was completely cooked to perfection and really elevated what a first class experience should be like. If that doesn’t satisfy your cravings, you should head to the Business Class lounge where you can make your noodles - guests can have a variety of ingredients and four broths to create their most creative creations.

The dining room of the Business Class contains this beautiful wine rack wall that serves as the focal point for the lounge itself. With a fantastic source of hot foods and some wild healthy drinks, you won’t go hungry, I promise! Most clienteles tend to head to the noodle bar station, which is a fantastic choice.

There is a dedicated bar service in the lounge as well, which is free of charge.

I think this is the first time that I’ve ever encountered an outdoor terrace for a lounge. First, it’s great to grab some fresh air and since Los Angeles almost never rains, it’s a place to unwind, grab a couple of drinks and just away with friends and strangers. With a impressive waterfall feature and black rock fireplaces built in around the terrace, this was definitely the highlight for me during our stay here at the lounge.

Conclusion

The Star Alliance First Class Lounge is intimate and immaculate. It has all the amenities that a private consumer would want, and has the selections of all the business class amenities at their walking distance. The business class lounge is massive, with a huge buffet selection, an outdoor terrace and a interior balcony that fits the mood for most savvy travelers.

These two lounges look to be a strong staple for those traveling on Star Alliance flights and will be a great resting haven for those transiting or beginning their flight journey.
